Partnerships that Failed to Make Appropriate Distributions to Former Partners."
In In re Paper I Partners L.P., (283 B.R.661), a New York bankruptcy court
upheld the right of former limited partners to commence involuntary cases
under chapter 7 against "foreign" limited partnerships that
had failed to make the appropriate distributions to its former partners
following their withdrawal. The two affiliated limited partnerships were
formed for the sole purpose of acquiring the publicly traded securities
of a Swiss corporation.

Motions: A Practical Guide to the Critical First Days of a Bankruptcy
Case,
is available through the online
publications catalog. Written by Debra Grassgreen of Pachulski, Stang,
Ziehl, Young, Jones & Weintraub PC, this book addresses the basics
of first-day motions and provides an overview of administrative, operational
and substantive motions/orders. The latest ABI publication, the Bankruptcy
Telecommunications Manual, and a variety of other titles are also
available through the online publications catalog.
