15th Annual Rocky Mountain Bankruptcy Conference
ABI's 15th Annual Rocky Mountain Bankruptcy Conference will take place Jan. 21-22 at the Westin Tabor Center in Lower Downtown Denver. This year's conference will provide attendees with an interactive roundtable format, led by prominent regional and national judges and experienced practitioners. Come for the program (up to 9 hours of CLE credit) and explore the neighborhood, filled with shopping, museums and entertainment. Two of the sessions will be of particular interest to the committee.
Panelists in the session "Hot Springs, Bubbling Mudpots and Steaming Fumeroles at Yellowstone National Park: Hot Topics and Recent Developments" will discuss exceptions to the absolute priority rule and how consensual plans are often in the best interests of the lender. J. Thomas Beckett of Parsons Behle & Latimer in Salt Lake City will moderate. Panelists will include Prof. Richard I. Aaron of S.J. The session "Maneuvering Around Delicate Arch at Arches National Park: Representing Family-Owned and Other Closely-Held Businesses" will address issues to consider when filing chapter 11 for individuals and small, family-owned businesses, as well as two helpful checklists for such cases.
