Materials From Views From The Bench 2008

Views From The Bench, co-sponsored by the ABI and the Georgetown University Law Center, recently concluded in Washington, DC.  Each year Views From The Bench offers a unique opportunity for bankruptcy practitioners and bankruptcy judges to convene for top-notch CLE and keen insights. This year's conference featured topics including asset disposition, real estate issues, retail bankruptcies and more.  Rick Meth of Day Pitney LLP in Morristown, N.J. moderated the panel for the session "Current Developments In Ethics," who discussed issues including conflicts counsel, the role of local counsel, attorney-client privilege and more.  The panel included Hon. Stephen S. Mitchell, U.S. Bankruptcy Court (E.D. Va.), Hon. S. Martin Teel, Jr., U.S. Bankruptcy Court (D. D.C.) and Hon. Judith H. Wizmur, U.S. Bankruptcy Court (D. N.J.).  Mark D. Committee Session At The ABI Winter Leadership Conference

The Winter Leadership Conference will be held Dec. 4-6 in Tucson, AZ, at the Westin La Paloma.  This year's conference will feature another great group of sessions and speakers, as well as some top-notch entertainment!  The Ethics Committee session will be held on Friday at 3:45 p.m.  "The Good, the Bad and the Very, Very Ugly:  Pitfalls of Improper or Incomplete Disclosures by 'Professionals'" will feature speakers Ramona Elliott from the Executive Office For U.S. Trustees, Janice B. Grubin of Drinker Biddle & Reath in New York, Bill Ryan of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP in Baltimore, Kelly Beaudin Stapleton of Traxi LLC in New York and Prof. Jack Williams, ABI Resident Scholar.  Hon.
