ABI's 2009 Chicago Consumer Bankruptcy Conference
ABI's 2009 Chicago Consumer Bankruptcy Conference will be held on October 12 at the Standard Club in Chicago. This day-long program will focus on current issues affecting debtors and creditors in the consumer realm. The program features a powerhouse lineup of bankruptcy judges, consumer attorneys and panel trustees. ABI's Scholar in Residence, Adam Levitin, will lead a lunchtime discussion on current legislative developments affecting consumers. One session will be of particular interest to the committee.
Panelists in the session "Ethical Issues with Respect to Attorney's Fees in Consumer Cases" will discuss the fee application process and procedural requirements as well as case law updates concerning chapter 7 and 13. Panelists will include Hon. Bruce W. Black of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court (N.D. Ill.) in Chicago, Gerald Mylander of Glenn Stearns, Chapter 13 Trustee in Lisle, Ill. and Thomas E.
