Beauty Contests - Ethical and Legal Limits to Solicitation
The Ethics and Professional Compensation Committees are pleased to announce some recent and exciting changes. The two committees have merged because of common areas of interest in professional conduct discipline and issues concerning professional compensation in bankruptcy cases. It is anticipated that the merger will make a much more productive and stronger joint committee going forward.
James H. Cossitt of James H. Cossitt, PC in Kalispell, Mont., W. Clarkson McDow of the Office of the U.S. Trustee, Region 4 in Columbia, S.C. and Judith Greenstone Miller of Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss, PC in Southfield, Mich. have accepted the positions of Co-Chairs for the 2010-2011 term. All three Co-Chairs have actively contributed to the committees in the past. Ms. Miller and Mr. McDow also represent the recent merger between the Ethics and Professional Compensation committees. Both of them previously served as Co-Chairs for the Ethics and Professional Compensation Committees, respectively.
The ABI would also like to thank those Co-Chairs whose terms have expired. Edward T. Gavin and C.R. "Chip" Bowles have contributed greatly to the committees' leadership over the past few years. The ABI looks forward to working with them in other capacities going forward. To view a complete list of your current committee leadership, please click here.
