What's New
at ABI World • Check out the new ABI World to view the upgraded Financial Advisors Committee section. The new “committees” area of the web site allocates space for each ABI committee. From the home page, click on “About ABI” and then “Committees” to see all of ABI’s committees. In the left-hand navigation in blue, click on “Financial Advisors.” Once you click on the Financial Advisors committee, you will notice that the left-hand navigation in blue has changed again. Within the main page, you will see a listing of the committee chairs, the committee listserves (where you can join or view the Financial Advisors committee listserve) and agendas for any upcoming meetings of the Financial Advisors Committee. In the left-hand navigation you will note that beneath “Financial Advisors” there are three new options: Minutes, Newsletter and Educational Materials. The “Minutes” page provides minutes from past Financial Advisors Committee meetings. The “Newsletter” page provides all back issues of the Financial Advisors electronic newsletter. The “Educational Materials” page provides educational materials from past conferences that address issues related to financial advisors. • An article in the June edition of the ABI Journal, “How to Keep the Lights On in a REP Bankruptcy: A Case Study from Texas,” looks at how financial advisors guided the Texas-based retail electric provider through the bankruptcy process. The article was written by Diana M. Woodman (Thompson & Knight LLP; Houston) and John D. Baumgartner (Chiron Financial Group Inc.; Houston). • Stay abreast of the latest on bankruptcy-related news by reading the Daily Bankruptcy Headlines at ABI World. • Looking for a new employee or searching for a new job?
