Mr. Goldberg will continue in his position as committee Co-chair, and Mr. Gearin advances to Co-chair after serving as the committee's Listserve Facilitator from March 2008 through March 2011.

At the recently concluded 29th Annual Spring Meeting, held March 31 - April 3, there was a session of interest to the committee titled "The Mortgage Financial Crisis: Macro Legal and Economic Issues Raised by the Enforceability of Residential Mortgages in Consumer Cases." The panel discussed MERS, gave a detailed description of the three steps required to fix the "foreclosure-gate" and presented attendees with a variety of charts and graphs depicting real estate and financial statistics. Panelists included Jason Gold of Third Way in Washington D.C.; Hon. Carol J. Kenner (ret.) of Newton, Mass.; and Dr. Joseph Mason of Louisiana State University College of Business in Baton Rouge.
