ABI's 17th Annual Northeast Bankruptcy Conference and 5th Annual Northeast Consumer Forum will be held at the Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in historic Brewster, Mass., July 8-11. This year's meeting offers the best regional speakers, discussion of timely topics and is sure to offer something for everyone. The resort provides access to the beautiful beaches of Cape Cod Bay as well as the Cape's only Nicklaus-designed golf course. One of the sessions will be of particular interest to the committee.
Panelists in the session "The Assault on the Secured Creditor" will discuss recent decisions that ruled against secured creditors and their possible impact on secured lending going forward. Paul D. The Assault on the Secured Creditor
The ABI is pleased to announce your new Secured Credit Committee Co-Chairs. Douglas E. Deutsch of of Chadbourne & Parke, LLP in New York and Stephen V. Falanga of Connell Foley LLP in Roseland, N.J. have accepted the positions for the 2010-2011 term. Mr. Falanga moves up from his previous position as Education Director and Mr. Deutsch continues as Co-Chair for another year.
The ABI would also like to thank T. Scott Avila of CRG Partners Group LLC in Los Angeles for his service as Co-Chair. Mr. Avila has contributed greatly to the leadership of the committee and the ABI looks forward to working with him in other capacities going forward.
